Water Rats Litter Picking

Clearing up at The Splash and River Colne

Posted on March 2, 2025March 5, 2025 by admin

Another huge clear up in Stanwell Moor at The Splash and River Colne

Residents in Stanwell Moor worked with the Water Rats and Spelthorne Litter Pickers this weekend (1st March 2025) to clear up litter in the Splash and River Colne.

The canoe was brought out as well as people in waders.

The Water Rats, part of Spelthorne Litter Pickers, helped residents clear some of the rubbish and overgrown vegetation from the Splash and the river Colne.

The youngest picker was aged five years old.

Although it is a work in progress, it was an incredible amount of litter collected. This included builders bag, two propane gas containers, lots of cans, plastic bottle, plastic bags, bed springs, scaffolding ,and even an electric scooter was pulled out of the water!

If there are any volunteers that would like help they would be most welcome.

Thanks to Cindy Sennett for the above and to Moureen Gordon for tea and coffee afterwards in Stanwell Moor Community Garden

  • Quieter Neighbourhood Support Scheme – We urgently Need Your Feedback!

Stanwell Moor Community Watch has received several complaints from residents regarding the Heathrow Quieter Neighbourhood Support Scheme. We reached out to the Community Engagement team at Heathrow Airport to raise these with them.

They have agreed to meet with us. We will be raising a range of issues with the scheme with the Operational Impacts and Community Engagement Lead and theSenior Community Engagement Manager.

To help us with this they have requested that we collate all resident complaints and feedback and forward them by Monday.

Please share your comments on this post or email them to info@stanwellmoor.org

Thank you for your cooperation. By raising the concerns we want to ensure existing and new residents benefiting from the scheme receive a better service.
