Update from the Second Heathrow Expansion Neighbourhood Group meeting for Stanwell Moor and Stanwell

Posted on August 18, 2026August 18, 2026 by admin

Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) recently held its second neighbourhood group meeting for Stanwell Moor and Stanwell. We were present to ensure that Stanwell Moor was represented and and its needs taken seriously in Heathrow Expansion. Building on the initial introductory session, this meeting focused on shaping the upcoming “Your Area” document, with HAL aiming to significantly improve upon the clarity and engagement of the 2019 consultation.

Clear Mapping

A central theme of the discussion was the need for transparent, fully labelled maps that clearly outline the physical impact of planned expansion works on surrounding communities. We want the maps to clearly illustrate the extent of construction both north of the village and south of the airport; details on the proposed southern parkway car park, its feeder road from the M25, and the multi-level junction next to the village connecting Heathrow south towards Ashford and; that residents are consulted on the proposed “Green Loop”—a dedicated new walking and cycling route planned around the perimeter of the village.

Construction Sequencing and Resident Preparation

We emphasised that residents need clear information before any land used for construction. The “Your Area” document must outline construction sequencing and specific land use within and around the village. Clear advance notice on phasing is critical so households can realistically prepare for noise, traffic disruption, and day-to-day changes.

Core Topics Covered in the “Your Area” Document

The draft document will incorporate key lessons learned from the 2019 consultation feedback, including environmental Controls (mitigation plans for noise, air quality, and local emissions); transport changes impacting local roads and public transit links especially the 442 bus; direct employment and training opportunities for our community and; accountability such as having a dedicated resident hotline alongside direct access to on-site managers.

Ensuring Fair Local Representation

We addressed the balance between the two distinct localities represented within the group. We stressed the importance of ensuring each unique neighbourhood has its specific concerns highlighted, while still addressing shared, cross-community impacts.

The finalised “Your Area” document is scheduled for public release during the wider public consultation later this year.
