This consultation provides an opportunity to comment on Heathrow Airport Limited’s specific proposals, challenge assumptions, identify missing information, and suggest changes.
You do not have to agree with expansion to contribute constructively about what should happen if it does go ahead, and supporting expansion does not prevent you from raising concerns about its effects.
How is CISHA involved?
We have been scrutinising Heathrow’s consultation plans through a CISHA subcommittee – the Heathrow Expansion Independent Community Engagement Board – and secured several improvements to the accessibility of Heathrow’s engagement plans. Heathrow Expansion Watch is our online expansion information hub, and contains independent information about the expansion process, including this consultation, and will be added to further in the coming weeks.
As Heathrow’s consultation progresses, we will be particularly interested in whether it is accessible to those most likely to be affected if expansion goes ahead, whether people have the information they need to understand the proposals, and whether the questions allow communities to raise the issues that matter to them.
We will also be looking at what happens after the consultation closes and encouraging Heathrow to respond effectively to what communities have said. Engagement must not end on 22nd December. For people facing uncertainty about their homes, businesses or neighbourhoods, there is an ever-growing need for clear communication and practical support as the process continues.
Have your say
We encourage anyone who may be affected to look at Heathrow’s proposals, particularly the information relating to their own area, and respond to the questions most relevant to them. You do not need to answer all 12 questions. If you are concerned about a particular road, neighbourhood, property policy, or aspect of airport operations, explain what the issue is, how it affects you, and what you think Heathrow should do differently.
Heathrow has published local-area booklets called ‘In Your Area’ documents, consultation documents, and an online feedback form. You can find the full suite of materials and submit your response here. There are also public events where people can ask questions and further details on these, including dates and venues, can be found here.
The consultation closes on 22nd December 2026.
