Keeping the Village Clean
Our village is prone to drivers coming through an depositing their litter in our ditches and channels. On top of the work of the street cleaners and Heathrow Rangers we have dedicated volunteers who periodically clear up the litter. A particular problem is the dumping in ditches and channels.
On 12th February 2024 Claire Mack and Moureen Gordon from the committee, with volunteers, cleaned the litter and fly tipping out of a flood relief channel in the village. This is on top of what had previously been taken away by the Environment Agency. Over the afternoon they collected a huge amount of rubbish: 13 refuse bags, three dumped tyres and one milk crate.
Keeping the village clean is our priority. The work of the team today shows the huge scale of the task. By regular clean ups we can minimise the clutter attracting clutter and maintain the safety of the village from flooding.
