Christmas 2023 was a first for The Anchor Pub and the village with a Christmas Market, held on Saturday 2 December. The Market was hosted by The Anchor Pub in association TW19 Staines, supported by the Stanwell Moor Residents Association.

The Pub welcomed a variety of stallholders, with an accent on promoting local businesses. Not only were there bric-a-brac, but also clothing stalls (with a difference), home decor, food (cake and samosas), beauty products plus the Sea Cadets .

The Association aims to bring together the village through social events, put the village on the map in West London, and support local businesses. Through these events, working with the Anchor Pub, the village is growing in its presence and sustainability.

This was not just a market. The event also had its own pianist playing Christmas tunes. The pub provided mulled wine and mince pies. Santa greeted the children with a chocolate. The event was concluded with a raffle for a Christmas Hamper.

The Market attracted not only villagers but customers from all over West London. Thank you to Billy and Peter for hosting the event at the pub, Arvinder (co-chair of the Association) for his work in bringing in a variety of stalls, Sheena Manku (SMRA committee member) for the hamper, and to Santa for dropping by.
