Heathrow plans could cause ‘unacceptable’ noise to Stanwell Moor

The proposed change by Heathrow Airport to flight patterns could see the number of landing planes over our village increase from 36 to more than 300 a day.

We find the planning application completely unacceptable and serving only the interests of the profits of Heathrow Airport. We were promised by the new Chief Executive Officer that the airport would be a good neighbour to the villages. This demonstrates the opposite – a direct threat to the wellbeing of the village. We are already blighted by our proximity to the Western end of the Southern runway. This application will wipe out what respite we have to enjoy our gardens, our parks and our quality of life.

We are actively engaging with noise scheme management and giving them feedback that we expect better from their schemes and not just for properties under the flight path but the entire Moor. The scheme serves to give us quality of life whilst indoors not to confine in our homes due to the massively ramped up number of flights taking off and landing over our homes.

We call upon Heathrow Airport to respect our village as neighbours with transparency and honesty by entering into a direct dialogue with the village. We call upon the Surrey County Council and Spelthorne Borough Council to lobby Heathrow Airport to take a holistic view of its place in region – employment, travel, AND the community.
