Heathrow Submits Planning Application For Easterly Alternation
On Thursday October 24 2024, Heathrow Airport submitted its planning proposal to the London Borough of Hillingdon. Hillingdon will now undertake a validation process for the submitted proposal. Following the validation period, Hillingdon will hold a consultation on the proposal received. Heathrow hopes to receive a decision from Hillingdon by Spring 2025.
Their proposals are for the first phase of a project to enable easterly departures on Heathrow’s northern runway. Easterly Alternation is being brought forward following the Government’s historic decision to end the Cranford Agreement.
The two elements of the proposal are for a) ground infrastructure changes and b) ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) procedures. Full information on the easterly alternation proposals can be found on Heathrow Airport website.
Members of our village attended the recent consultation meeting in the Hall and gave its responses around reassurances on take-off and landing rotations affecting the village and surface noise from taxiing planes.
